Sigma 10-20mm lens on Canon EOS cameras-WOW!

I bought this lens to replace two manual focus lenses I had.An 8mm circular fisheye and a 16mm fisheye.

The older you get,the harder it is to focus the older manual focus lenses..and why would you want to ?

I have the Canon 20D and Rebel XT 350.If you shoot with a digital SLR you are aware of the problems you can have from switching lenses which does nothing more than suck in particles of dust to your camera sensor.The most minute piece of dust on a sensor ends up the size of a dime by the time you get to process your image.Not a fun task.

This lens is one you can keep on and get the ultra wide end to the almost normal end at 20.Well,wider than normal..

You would not really use this lens for portraits unless you really did not love your friends or clients.Close up will give you a good amount of distortion and it will not be flattering.

You can work with this lens in a few different ways.

It makes a decent landscape lens.It can also do interiors but you will get a bit of wide angle distortion.You can work with it to enhance a creative angle or you can straighten it up in Photoshop or one of the plug ins that allow for this.

This is not a good lens for architecture.The buildings will look like they are leaning..Again,creative..but your better off for that shooting a bit more on the normal end.

I have gotten some really nice architecture images by working with curves and lines in a building design and winding staircases.
The shots have a different look than my fisheyes did.You will not get a circular effect on this.

This lens is very crisp.Perhaps I have a good copy but I am doing 20x24s
without any problems.The focus is fast too.

This is the widest lens out there...Canon makes I believe a 12-24 or so but I wanted something wider to give a different look.I already own a Canon 17-40.
The Sigma is reasonably priced and a nice edition to your camera bag!
