Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - it will make you laugh, cry, and smile

I love Disney movies. This movie in particular is special because it started the entire Disney animated movie phenomenon. Released in 1937, this was a little piece of something sweet in a time of utter depression.

Plot:

A young princess sings and dreams and then falls in love with a man on a white horse (don’t we all wish it was that easy). Her step-mother, the Queen, really wants the be the fairest of the land, but when she asks her mirror that all too famous question, the mirror tells her that Snow White is the fairest. The upset, jealous, and just plain hateful Queen orders a hunter to kill Snow White in the woods. The hunter cannot kill the beautiful princess so he tells her to escape into the woods. While in the woods she finds an old small house. It looks abandoned so with the help of her forest friends she cleans it up to make it homey for herself. She soon comes to discover that seven little men live in the house. When she tells them her story they agree that she can stay with them.

But what will happen when the queen again asks the mirror whom is the fairest? With Snow White still alive, she must be still the fairest! Will the queen find out? Will the love of Snow White’s life find her in the woods? Will they all live happily ever after?

Characters:

Snow White – innocent, sweet, beautiful, and apparently adventurous. I don’t know if I would live in a house with seven men.

The Seven Dwarfs – Sleepy, Sneezy, Happy, Dopey, Grumpy, Doc, and Bashful. Every one of them has a different personality that matches their name. Almost everyone sees themselves with one of these personalities a year. They are cute, nice, old men.

The Prince – This man has no name but “The Prince.” He serves one purpose and that is to fall in love with Snow White without even speaking to her.

The Queen/Witch – named recently in the top ten of AFI’s most memorable villains, that is just what the Queen is. She is mean, hateful and everything everyone despises in a person.

Music:

The music is beautiful as all Disney songs are. Snow White has a gorgeous voice. The songs have gone down in history in a way. Don’t we all whistle while we work now? Or wish by a wishing well?

Overall:

This movie is a true work of art and should definitely be seen again and again by adults and children. There are no magical special effects or action scenes that keep you on the edge of your chair; however, it does have a great story that will bring a smile to your face and teach many lessons that you will forever remember. No one should miss out seeing this movie.
