Pros: Easy to use, great quality, edit yourself
Cons: wide-angle lens not worth the money
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I bought the sony trv-900 to make some videos and edit them on our computer and my experience with it has been great. Unlike the somewhat more professional canon xl-1, you can just turn it on and shoot your footage without assembling the microphone...

Pros: Picture Quality, Dependability, Size, Accessories
Cons: Manual focusing, tends towards blue in shade

Review: I bought the PD100A (the same as the TRV900 but a different color and only made of the best components). I'm not going to go over the features; you probably know them by reading about the description page. I absolutely love this camcorder and think...

Pros: RELIABLE. STURDY. Beautiful, natural color. Great in low light. Clear sound. Super-sharp LCD screen.
Cons: Will not work as a pass through device in transferring from analog source to computer
The Bottom Line: Probably the favorite camera buy of my life - certainly the most expensive. The pictures and sound are truly comparable to broadcast quality
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I have owned a SONY TRV900 for over 5 years since September 1999. I keep it clean and dry and occasionally run the Sony cleaning tape through it. It has never needed serving or repair. The pictures are phenomenal. Absolutely beautiful, clear color...

Pros: Unsurpassed image quality; high-end digital camcorder; reliable.
Cons: Photo mode's highest resolution is 640x480 (340K pixels).
The Bottom Line: Dollar for dollar, this is the best camera for the money, in terms of image quality, durability, and feature set.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: I bought the Sony DCR-TRV900 CamCorder in December 1999, and after nearly 2 years, I still think this was one of the best purchase decisions I have made. The TRV900 has proven to be a high-quality, reliable product.
I bought this camcorder... |

Pros: Arguably the best picture among digital camcorders, features, standard accessories
Cons: Looks, low resolution of still pictures, low digital zoom
The Bottom Line: You can spend more money and get better looking camcorder, but it is highly unlikely that it will perform better than TRV900.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: The Sony DCR-TRV900 MiniDV digital camcorder is not cheap. But it produces arguably the best video quality among MiniDV camcorders, and you can see why ? it provides professional-grade picture using goodies like three CCDs with more...

Pros: 3CCD, overall pictures quality, good (optional) batteries, a host of accessories available, NTSC Playback
Cons: standard battery, slight blueish color balance
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend the Sony DCR-TRV900 for anyone looking for a high quality home video, as well as professionals who want a discrete yet high quality camcorder for their tasks.

Review: Overview
This camcorder is Sony?s high-end consumer (prosumer) unit with performance that rivals professional camcorders. It features 3CCD (versus 1 on lower models), progressive scan mode, optical image stabilizer, large 3.5? LCD screen,... |

Pros: Compact, Nice Screen, and Great Video.
Cons: Not as many manual controls as its big brother and no 30fps progressive scan video.
The Bottom Line: This is the best of both worlds: compact and excellent video.

Review: I still remember my first experience with camcorders. It was an old full sized VHS Memorex camcorder my family baught when I was 12. Now I'm 25 and boy have camcorders changed. No more analog, all digital now! Of recent years I have had an...

Pros: Excelent value for extreme quality.
Cons: Not as robust and durable as cameras priced 8 times more.
The Bottom Line: If you are serious about video shooting there is simply no better choice at this time for a near pro-quality video camera at a relatively affordable budget.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: If you have always wanted to produce videos for more then just family re-union or home movies but are not yet established in the world of professional Video production, this is the camera for you.

Pros: Broadcast quality video. 3 CCDs. Rocker zoom control. Optical steady shot.
Cons: No nightshot. Almost 4 years old.
The Bottom Line: Want broadcast quality video that weights in less than 2lbs? Look no further, the Sony DCR-TRV900 is for you.

Review: Over the years, I've owned several Sony camcorders. From Hi8 to the recent Sony DCR-PC115 I just purchased a couple of months ago. Even though I was happy with the DCR-PC115, I find it very hard to hold especially when I am trying to film my newborn...
