Well i recently bought a HDTV and i wanted to get the best picture quaility possible out of my dvd collection without picking sides in the whole Blu-ray vs HDDVD war until we have a winner, and besides those players cost way to much right now.So i did alot of research to see who had the best upconverting dvd player and after alot of reading i decided on this sony dvd player.Well after taking it out of the box i was very happy to see a real quality piece of equipment,i love how these things keep getting smaller but have many more features than the early dvd players. So i hooked it up using a HDMI cable that i got and turned it on and set it up which i found to be very easy and the manual is easy to read and understand.Well after playing about 5 movies on this player i have to say i am very happy, the picture is excellent. It may not be true HD but it is a big step up from a regular SD.Now i don't really know if the dvd player has anything to do with sound but the sound is excellent through my home theatre setup so that is another plus.Another thing i liked about this player is i was halfway through Braveheart when i had to shut it off,and i didn't turn the player back on until a couple of days later and i was surprised to see that it started right where i left off,i thought that was a nice feature. The remote is easy to use and has alot of features. You can play CD and mp3s in this player but i have not tried,i have a stearo for that.Well i don't know what else to say except that this thing works great and with the Sony name i am very confident that it will give me many years of service.
