Author's Review
Several friends of mine made a statement about six months ago stating from purchases they have made recently; that the quality and deceptive advertising employed by Sony has become a disgrace. At the time, I could not bring myself to accept this as truth.
Since the occurrence of the Sony root kit fiasco, of which I was personally involved (those that may be unfamiliar with this practice), I will briefly explain that an exploit called a root kit, opened an avenue for a possible malicious attack on ones personal computer. If the consumer purchased certain Sony/BMG music CDs and placed the CD into their computer, they ended up with more than they bargained for, because in order to play the music, you had to agree to install certain files before you could hear music. The bottom line; is total deceptive practice on the part of Sony/BMG that was uncovered by some wonderful watchdog groups, who were on the look out for the protection of you and me.
Now, the Wireless Headphone fiasco (model MDR-RF960RK), The product should have never been released, at least not with the known flaws it has. Forget the manufacturers claim that these headphones will operate at a distance of 150 feet without loss of sound quality. Just three feet and noise, squeals, ticks, pops, distortion, dropouts, and if you can hear the music at all, most will disappear at the turn of your head.
I will not even attempt to voice the pros of this product because it would be like trying to convince you of a new car I just bought, loaded with every option available and then tell you that the engine does not run.
Sony, shame on you for placing your name Sony on this product. I have not investigated whether or not this product has been recalled, but if not, it should be. I for one, will return this product for a full refund because of one simple reason: it does not work as advertised. It is a poor piece of engineering and a deception to the buying public in every sense of the word. I am moving away from Sony products for a two to five year time frame to see if this company can recover and return to a place of prominence. Lastly, if a class action lawsuit has not begun concerning this product, I am shocked.
