THE PRICE IS RIGHT

Date of Review:  Oct 23, 1999
Review: Sony MDR-V600 is an exceptional value for the $100 price tag. Their light weight form fitting design is ideal for home/office use. I would not consider this item to accommodate the high end consumer or professional market. The Sony MDR-V600 would be...

Good...but you can do better

Date of Review:  Dec 24, 1999
Review: The Sony MDR-V600 are great headphones, but, depending on who you are, you can do better. These headphones are built solid and can be folded up nice and neat, but the sound is something to be desired for at times. However, the pros do beat the cons...

mmm....comfy...

Date of Review:  Jul 31, 2000
Review: The MDR-V600's are a decent set of headphones, but they're nothing to write home about. My thoughts:

Executive Summary
The V600's are classified as "Studio Monitors," aimed at the higher-end market. They're more than enough headphone...

v600s are NOT the v6

Date of Review:  Nov 29, 2000
Review: the v600s are NOT the highly acclaimed v6s (which happen to be cheaper). please do not buy the v600s thinking they are better than the v6. cause they are not. the v600s have muddy bass and really can not be considered "studio monitors" simply...

Everyone should own a pair

Date of Review:  Oct 18, 2000
Review: I have never been one to wear headphones...
people look idiotic with those huge muffs on
their ears... I always went for the $10 mini
in-your-ear headphones (I didn't know what
I was missing).

One day at work I forgot my...

Good headpone-fair price

Date of Review:  Dec 21, 2000
Review: I tried several other competitive headphones prior to buying the Sony
MDR-V600 model. They were a lot better than the Koss a-130's (a most uncomfortable set-that irritated my ears).
I used the Sony set with the following equipment: A Sony...

MDR-V6: better suited for DJs

Date of Review:  Jan 3, 2001
Review: First off let me indicate that this review is actually for the MDR-V6, which was the predecessor to the MDR-V600. But since there's no listing for the V6, I'm sticking it here.

I borrowed these headphones from my brother, who uses them for...

I can't believe these are replacements for the venerable MDR V6!

Date of Review:  Apr 18, 2001
The Bottom Line: The V600 is a poor buy. Save your money and find a pair of MDR-V6 or audition other units in its price range. The old V6 was much better!
Review: I've owned a pair of Sony MDR V6's for a long time - possibly 8+ years and have been thoroughly happy with them for the price. They are comfortable, good sonic performance, fold to a fairly compact package and have survived a lot of business travel...

Nice but still wondering where the bucks went

Date of Review:  Nov 23, 2000
Review: I bought the product to use with my computer as I'm a mp3 user. I have been using a 10 year old MDR-V202 and the ear pads have been falling apart since day one otherwise I am still very happy with them. This is why I decided to upgrade to V600. The...

Why???

Date of Review:  Apr 19, 2001
The Bottom Line: Just don't buy them!
Review: These were the first headphones that I purchased on my journey into the audiophile world. My dim salary makes it impossible for me to buy a worth while stereo, so I decided a good pair of headphones would do the trick. Too bad I didn't research my...
