Sony MDR-V150 Professional Headphones

Date of Review:  Mar 22, 2008
The Bottom Line: "my headphones
they saved my life
your tape
it lulled me to sleep"
~ Bjork
Review: These do not provide complete noise abatement but they certainly keep it down to a dull roar. The main reason we decided on the Sony MDR-V150 was because we were beyond through with those darn ear buds. The hard ones that come with products today...

Not for an audiophile

Date of Review:  Nov 9, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a simple, cheap pair of headphones that look cool, then these are this is your set. If not, look elsewhere.
Review: I purchased these headphones to accompany my Brainwave generator program on my laptop. Having good experiences with Sony headphones in the past, I figured that they would be a good buy. I should have looked harder.

Useful... But Uncomfortable

Date of Review:  Jan 9, 2004
The Bottom Line: All around average except to sound, which is excellent for this price. (Except Koss KTX-Pro)
Review: I'll start off by saying that these headphones are not of the best quality. This is understandable for their price ($20). So I will compare them to other cheap run-of-the-mill headphones. First of all is the sound quality. I find it adaquate for...

A very good cheapo upgrade.

Date of Review:  Aug 22, 2003
The Bottom Line: Studio Monitors they aint. They sound pretty good on a Sony PEG-SJ33 as an alternative to the stock earbuds.
Review: I picked up a pair of MDR-V150s at a local store, not to replace, but as an alternative to the earbuds that came with my Sony PEG-SJ33 handheld, which features an MP3 player.

While the looks and overall quality are both very nice, the...

Sony's MDR V150 headphones are suitable for occasional listening only.

Date of Review:  Feb 25, 2003
The Bottom Line: Not recommended - for $10 more, you can get the Koss U-29 collapsible headphones that blow this Sony model away.
Review: I purchased these headphones to replace the ultra-light (and ultra-poor sounding) headphones that came with my Sony Sports CD player. Although they do sound significantly better, they are not what I hoped for in terms of sound quality or comfort. Of...

Taking them back.

Date of Review:  Feb 21, 2006
Review: I picked these up at Walmart for $20 as an upgrade for a cheap pair I have been using at my computer. Plugged them directly into my home CD player and was instantly disappointed at an unnatural bass boost and instant muddiness as I increased the...

Imagine wearing a C-clamp on you head

Date of Review:  Aug 16, 2004
Review: These are easily the most uncomfortable headphones I ever bought. While they are generously padded the fact remains that they are extremely tight on my head. All the padding in the world won't make up for the fact that they are pressing hard against...

The Sony MDR-V150 Dynamic Stereo Headphones

Date of Review:  Jun 1, 2007
The Bottom Line: Buy these headphones because they are most a good deal.
Review: Using these headphones has been all good and no bad. The sound is clear. I have experienced very good sound from these headphones. To top off the satisfaction these headphones provided me, they have remained in perfect shape throughout use. I travel...

I've heard worse for the price...

Date of Review:  Feb 22, 2005
The Bottom Line: For an average pair of headphones which block out the majority of the background noise at a low price, these may fit the bill.
Review: I work in a cubicle environment and therefore, wanted some sort of headphone to block noise while still providing a decent listening experience. In came the Sony MDR-V150 closed ear headphone.
