by   phaded ,   Aug 2, 2008

Pros:  I have a new coaster to sit my drinks on.

Cons:  Hip Hop is dead. Horrible Wordplay, Horrible Flow, Horrible song idea's. Altogether sucks..

The Bottom Line:  Hip Hop is Dead. And Soulja Boy is the main suspect.

Overall Rating: 1/5 stars

Author's Review

Soulja Boy has never been played in my stereo ever since I bought his CD.

Honestly, I love rap. But this guy is what they mean when you hear "Hip Hop is Dead". In reality, these are the new guys that are ruining it. With whack lyrics, and horribly wordplay, this guy has completely defaced what I would call rap. There is no actual meaning to his songs, its just a bunch of talk running up and down the CD. Use your 20 dollars and go donate it to charity, you'll actually feel good when your done. Listening to this kids album, makes you depressed at what music has come too.

There is not much you can say when you try to back up his lyrics, because there is no meaning to them. There is nothing you can build on when listening to his music. He isnt even a gangster rapper, because all he says, is the same lyrics in different words, over the period of the whole CD.

His songs are remotely catchy, and fun to dance too, but when you get right down to it; Soulja Boy is not a rapper, he is just a kid that talks on a CD and makes the words sound good.

Sadly, people buy it too.

A few lyrics from his songs..

"Riding in the chevy, same color as dookie."
"Superman that hoe, now watch me crank that Robocop"
"Super fresh now watch me jock, jockin' on them haters man"

Horrible. Absolutely.

This CD is now a coaster in my house.
