I like the idea of girls rockin' out on the guitar. It works for me. I am so happy that little girls all over the world have musicians to look up to like Hannah Montana. I think that best I had growing up was Tiffany..UGH. Nothing great to aspire to there...

The Spectrum Guitar is a perfect first guitar for your child to grow into. It is much better to purchase real music instruments instead of child sized Toys R Us versions because they sound lousy, and tend to quickly break thus leading to very discouraged children. This guitar priced at about $100. is the perfect introduction to the guitar because it is lightweight, has a nice sound, is simple to strum, comes with a strap and two guitar picks. One looks like tortoise shell and the other looks like white mother of pearl. They are both rather thin plastic but are good enough. It does not come with a stand but you can easily keep it in the box or lean it against a wall.

The nice thing about this guitar for your child is that they can basically take it out of the box and once shown the proper way to hold and strum it they can actually get a nice sound from it. Later, they can work on fingering and figuring out a few chords. Who knows, maybe the Spectrum guitar will start them off om a musical journey. Much like books, I don't think you can got wrong with the purchase of a real musical instrument. It can open up a whole new world of experiences for your child. Watch out Hannah Montana...
