Author's Review
That's exactly what the photographs are in Sports Illustrated. The section in the front of the magazine each week, Leading Off, has some of the greatest sports pictures ever. They are just breathtaking sights of the past week in sports captured on film by photographers. Sports Illustrated has great in-depth articles and...Rick Reilly. Rick Reilly is so great he has to be mentioned in a different paragraph, so I'm going to start one now.
Rick Reilly is probably one of the greatest, if not the greatest, sports writers in America. He has so many great views n so many things in sports. And he makes it funny too! I had the chance to meet him when I went to see Superbowl XXXV. He directed a interview with Kurt Warner, Tim Brown, and Bill Parcells the morning of the game right in our hotel lobby! He is even funnier in person than he is in the magazine. This guy is just a great writer and I would pay the full price of the magazine just to read his weekly article.
Next we have the statistics. The statistics in Sports Illustrated are probably the most far out, never imaginable, statistics ever. I mean who has the chance to calculate how many home runs Alex Rodriguez has to hit each year (keeping about the same pace he has in his career) to reach 700 home runs by the time he is 38 years old? Not me for sure.
A great section in Sports Illustrated is Scorecard. Scorecard has the most random things you can think of all in one. Some of the topics don't even relate to sports. It has everything from poems to jokes. You just can't beat that.
Sports Illustrated is offering a special 12-issue trial free to see if you like the magazine. If you decide to subscribe, then you can keep the 12 issues and get an extra 14 issues for $29.95. That's 26 issues for $29.95. During the year, Sports Illustrated has special issues for big events like the World Series, Superbowl, or Dale Earnhardt's death. They also, of course, have the annual Swimsuit Issue in February.
Sports Illustrated is a great magazine with amazing photos and in-depth articles. By the time you finish that week's issue, next week's issue will be sitting on your doorstep. This is a great magazine with something for every sports fan.
