Author's Review
Last year I decided I wanted to get a couple of wall mounted guitar holders in my home office so I could easily grab one of my acoustic guitars without having to bother with the case when I decided I wanted to rehearse or otherwise amuse myself. My requirements were that the wall mounts themselves be sturdy and not do damage to the guitars that I hung on them. I didn't want my expensive instruments to hit the floor because of a flimsy wall mount, and I didn't want the holder to scar or otherwise mar the finish of my guitars. After taking a look around the music store, I settled on the Stagg Wall Mount Guitar Holder, and I've been really pleased with my choice.
The Stagg Wall Mount Guitar Holder is very easy to install--it comes with three screws, and all you do is find a stud in your wall, level the mount, and screw it in. It's very easy and in a matter of minutes you can have the wall mount guitar holder firmly attached to your wall. The holder itself consists of a metal plate that sits flush against the wall, and protruding from the plate is a U-shaped holder that is designed to snugly hang your guitar from the wall. There's nothing holding the guitar on the bottom--it hangs freely from the U-shaped holder. If you install the Stagg Wall Mount Guitar Holder properly, it should have a solid feel and shouldn't give in the least if you attempt to pull on it with your hands.
The Stagg Wall Mount Guitar Holder gave me exactly what I was looking for in sturdiness. After I installed my two holders, I did apply pressure to each of them and detected no looseness or movement--it was like they had become part of the wall itself. I made sure to tighten the screws completely when I installed the mounts, and if you do the same, you'll have a wall mount guitar holder that won't budge under any pressure.
The U-shaped holder appears to have a layer of rubber coating it, and to fully protect your guitar, each arm of the holder is jacketed in soft leather. I've seen guitar holders over the years that would scar the neck of a guitar because there was not adequate protection. Most always it was a barely detectable blemish that only a very close inspection would reveal, but it was there nonetheless. Heck, I've even seen wall mount holders in retail music stores that didn't adequately protect the guitars they were holding, leaving an unsightly scar or blemish that would affect the value of a new instrument. Not so with the Stagg Wall Mount Guitar Holder--the rubber coat and soft leather jacket literally kisses the guitar on the neck right below the headstock, virtually guaranteeing that your guitar will show no signs of wear or damage from hanging in this holder.
The Stagg Wall Mount Guitar Holder clearly exceeded my expectations--I wanted a holder that was sturdy and offered the most in protecting my guitars, and this holder gave me the peace of mind that I was looking for. I look forward to using this holder for the next several years, and have no doubt that it will last that long.
Thanks for reading.
