Nikon 75-300mm--the Best Buy for Price/Optics Ratio!

Date of Review:  Jun 3, 2002
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for an excellent optics combined with a sold built for handling with a reasonably good price, look no further.
Review: I already own several lenses that cover the 20-300mm focal range, but I still want to have a lighter general-purpose zoom as a spare and/or travel-light lens that also includes the 300mm end. The first zoom in this 70-300mm range I tried was a...

Pretty good buy...

Date of Review:  Mar 25, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you are on a tight budget, Go for it.
Review: When it comes to camera lenses, like pretty much everything else, you are going to get what you pay for. Optics aren't cheap, and good optics are just plain EXPENSIVE. Now, having said that, don't completely discount a lens like this for all uses!...

Becoming a legend - Nikon 75-300

Date of Review:  Dec 30, 2000
Review: If you can find one of these older lenses, grab it. I have compared this lens and the newer "D" 70-300mm Nikkor lens on my Nikon N80, and found this lens to be a little sharper, and less distorion at 75mm and 300mm. If you are looking for decent...

Excellent price value for telelens, beats TC

Date of Review:  Jan 7, 2006
Review: This lens works fine with my D50 and D70 Nikons D-SLRs. The autofocus is not noticeably slower than with my regular Nikkor lenses and the quality of build and optics are very reasonable.
The lens is very light and I use it for outdoor portraits...
