Tamron 70-300mm - you get more than you pay for...in the beginning

The Bottom Line: Excellent lens for the beginning and intermediate photographer and for a great price. AF motor is, however, noisy.

I purchased the Tamrom 70-300/4-5.6 lens many months after the initial purchase of my Canon D30 and Canon 28-105/3.5-4.5 USM lens. With the Tamron, I also purchased a film Canon Elan 7E body so that I could shoot some film shots...

Not bad considering the price

Review: I purchased this lens to get a closer shot of a space shuttle lift off, from the viewing area, a few years ago. I was amazed on how well it performed considering the price I paid.

The optics are better than expected and reasonable sharp...
