Product Review

Best buy

by   seanmcr6 ,   Oct 6, 2006

Pros:  Constant 2.8. Light. Fast focus. Perfect everyday lens.

Cons:  Not weather sealed. Could have faster focus. That's about it.

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

This lens is the workhorse lens in my bag. I find it light but solid and it performs flawlessly. Good contrast and sharpness...constant 2.8. It's a usable 2.8 too. I was reluctant to buy a non Canon at first...this was my first non OEM lens purchase. My experience was so good, I've bought another one. (17-35 Tamron).

AF performance is good. Especially in low light. I've used this lens outdoors in -15C and in the summer at 38C. Never had a problem with it yet.

I bought the lens November 2004.
