Author's Review
I am a high school student, and since i was taking two math classes this year, and calculator-less, i set out to walmart, about 3 months ago to get myself a new calculator.
Since i have had it this long, i can say that this calculator is at least moderately durable, all i do is take it to math class an back to my locker so i cannot say that much about durability except that it is great under normal use, and the buttons do not get stuck that much over use, but you could tell that there has been some normal use on it.
This calculator should be fine for elementry-algebra2, geometry, and trig, (not use for calculus or higher as it does not have any sort of graphing) it has handy functions like sin cos tan, and their inverses, and X^2 and a very handy fraction function that can be used to add/subtract/multiply/divide fractions and is sort of difficult to discribe but very easy to use, all in all this calculator is very easy to use.
Battery life:
Since the calculator runs off of solar and an internal battery, you do not need to worry about replacing the batterys on this calculator. Also, from what i understand, the solar deal can recharge the main battery.
Screen:
FOr the most part, the screen is good. There are two lines, that hold up to 81 characters each. THe two line part of that can be kind of bad because, when working a problem, i can only see one equasion at a time, so i cant see my answers to recent entered previous equasions which could be helpful, BUT it kind of forces me to show my work on paper which, in the end helps me. (There is a way to enter the answer of a previous equasion (even though you cant see it on the screen) into the current equasion, which is helpful in some problems.)
Price:
Yea, thats where this thing shines the most, high school kids whose parents dont spoil them buy buying them their every wish will be very happy that this calculator can be found for less than $20 at a local store like walmart or office depot.
So with that said i will put in that this is a great calculator for the money- so good that i saw the need to write a review on it, and will easily get a high school kid through math class without breaking his wallet (or his parents)
