What is that horrible smell?

Oh yes, its your bottle burning! This product is a big no go for us. Our son was going through bottles and milk like crazy, and we were tired of heating them up so slowly by microwaving the water and then trying to warm it that way so when a friend recomended this, it sounded like the perfect solution! What, I can stick it in and push a button and 30 seconds later I have a warm bottle? GREAT! WRONG.
Problem #1. You're supposed to fill these two little itty bitty caps full of water and then depending on the size of bottle, dump a certain amount in. Never worked, forgot to refill, spilled constantly, leaked, etc.
Problem #2. The place where you put the bottle is a plastic holder inside metal. You dump the above mentioned water into this and the steam that results is supposed to heat the bottle. Oh my lord, the smell that came from here, even after I cleaned it out daily! It was like burn plastic- a horrible moldy smell that lingered. Very unpleasant.
Problem #3. It burnt my bottles. All of them. On the bottom. Did not make me happy.
Problem #4. Didn't heat consistently. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't, sometimes burnt the milk sometimes it was still cold. I couldn't stand that.
Problem #5. Anyone ever heard of Avent bottles? Guess what don't fit in this holder. My Avent. The bottle that makes my son happy because he has no gas. The best bottle in the WORLD in my opinion. Sooo it was heating the milk in one bottle then transferring it to the right one. This equated to a lot of bottles and a lot of dishes to wash. Thumbs DOWN.
There is only one "pro" for this product and that is that if you do have y our nursery far away from the kitchen and you need to store bottle for night time feedings, the "cold" holder does work rather well.
Overall, this bottle heater stinks. Literally. I definatly do not recommend it to anyone, unless you like the smell of burnt baby bottle .
