Durable enough to reuse, inexpensive enough to toss

We have bought multiple packs of the take and toss flatware. We have purchased this combo pack, as well as, the individual fork and spoon packs. We mostly buy these at Wal-Mart and pay around $2.50 per pack.

We previously used The First Years take & toss flatware when our son began to eat baby food by purchasing the infant - 4 month spoons. We were pleased with the quality and decided since our son was growing and attempting to feed himself, we'd give the take & toss toddler utensils a try. While we were familiar with the brand, we were not sure how well he'd adapt to feeding himself so we didn't want to spend a fortune on flatware that he couldn't/wouldn't use. That is why we once again decided on this brand - affordable and durable. This particular pack features 8 spoons and 8 "sporks" (like a spoon/fork combo) in a variety of fun bright colors suitable for boy or girl. These utensils are angled so that it makes it easier for toddlers to manipulate the utensil in bowls with depth, as well as, use them on the flat surface of a high chair or table. The spoons have a wider surface area to hold more food than the infant spoons and the handles are wider and contoured for an easier grip. My son took to these utensils with little to no help and has gradually mastered the transfer of food from his bowl to his mouth by using this flatware. These utensils are completely dishwasher safe and much more durable than I'd expect from a *disposable* utensil.

I have not experienced any negative situations thus far with this product.

The First Years is right on track with this line of take n toss products which provides parents with an alternative to the typical overpriced flatware often recommended/advertised.
