Author's Review
The Take & Toss Toddler Flatware rocks. I spent less than $5 on a set with about 8 spoons and 8 forks, and six months later, we're still using that same set.
The name just about says it all.
Take...
The flatware is plastic, so it's lightweight and brightly colored. That makes it perfect for Mom's purse or the diaper bag. Lightweight -- well, that's an obvious plus. But bright colors -- that means you can actually FIND the spoons and forks when they have settled to the bottom of the bag! In fact, I keep a spare spoon in my purse for unexpected food outings.
...and Toss
While this flatware washes well (at least by hand it does -- we don't dishwasher ours because we don't run the dishwasher enough to keep our toddler supplied with spoons), it's also not super precious. Hello! Sixteen pieces for less than $5? If you forget a spoon in your rush to get a screaming toddler out of a restaurant, you won't be bummed. If you decide to "donate" a spoon to the sandbox, you won't miss it.
Other Nifty Stuff
The flatware is perfectly sized for little ones. The spoons and forks fit their mouths and hands, and are not too sharp or pokey or heavy. Each holds a decent-sized bite, too. The spoons are a little shallow in the bowl but once you get used to that, it's not a big deal. They also work well when the parents are still feeding the baby.
This flatware rocks!
