Life-changing Experience

Somehow, I've missed the exposure in the media, so I had no idea when I picked up the book.
It's filled with true stories from women from all walks of life, from all over the world. Topics range from menstruation to birthing; sex and rape.
For women:
It will help your realize that no matter what your experience, other women out there have had experiences relative to yours.....good and bad. The Monologues were intended as a voice to speak out against violence and oppression of women. Reading this book brings feelings of empowerment, shared grief, joy and a renewed energy towards life.
For men:
I believe it will help men realize that while they don't 'understand' women and the way we work, we may not understand or know ourselves. They may not realize the effects of their everyday actions. They definitely will come away with some insight.
