Almost right, but returning today
Pros:
Love the nature sounds and the size.
Cons:
Display too bright in darkness and CD has light...what the?
The Bottom Line:
Probably a great product unless you have a thing about light in your darkened room when bedding down for the night.

Author's Review
I really, really wanted to like this clock radio. My old Sony is ready for retirement and I've been looking for a while. I love nature sounds (and have an old model of that too). Here I was, thinking that I could combine both pieces of equipment into one unit. The BIG deal for me is the brightness of the display in a darkened room. I am a light and noise Nazi when it comes to bedtime... My old Sony has a display that emits a foul green glow, and I use a piece of cardboard to put in front of it at night. I was hoping that with newer technology I would be able to dim the display enough and not have to live with a piece of cardboard on my night stand.
Unfortunately, the Timex just doesn't dim enough to suit me. THE REAL KICKER - some moron in Timex's design department decided that there should be a light that comes on when the CD player is in use. A really damn bright, heinous orange light. A light from hell. A light that is unacceptable to someone who wants to listen to a CD as they drift off the sleep. Bad, bad, bad product design - this is a clock radio, not a friggin' boom box. So, back to Best Buy this little item goes. Sigh. Guess I better retrieve that piece of cardboard from the trash can. The search continues.
