This movie is a daisy.
Pros:
Outstanding cast.
Cons:
I need more Doc Holliday, and less of everyone else... then again, I'm biased.
The Bottom Line:
Tombstone brings the Wild West back to life. I recommend it to those who love westerns... and even those who don't. There is something here for everyone.

Author's Review
Loved the cast, loved the plot, loved the costumes, loved it all. This movie is the definition of brilliant. The ultimate western of westerns. After seeing it for the first time, I felt like like writing a letter to everyone involved with the movie, simply to tell them how brilliant I thought it was. It's definitely a daisy.
Director: George P. Cosmatos. Cosmatos' other works include Shadow Conspiracy, Leviathan, and Cobra to name but a few.
Writer: Kevin Jarre. Jarre's other works include The Mummy, The Devil's Own, and Glory to name a few.
Genre: Action/Western
Length: 2 hr 7 mins (130 mins)
Tagline: Justice is coming. (is that tagline kick-butt, or what?)
Plot: Wyatt Earp and his two brothers leave Dodge City as successful law men to venture into a peaceful life in Tombstone, Arizona hoping to strike it rich. However, the Cowboys and Clanton brothers are intimidated by the Earp's past reputation as law men. They cause random acts of trouble and viloence leading up to the famous shootout at the O.K. Corral.
Rated R for violence.
Cast
Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp: could there be a more perfect Wyatt? Russell has that mean "don't mess with me" air about him. Especially with his 'stache. That look is exactly what his character is screaming for. He carries it out exceptionally well.
Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday: you have to love Tombstone if only for Kilmer's role as Doc Holliday. He looks right for the part and sounds right for the part. His alluring southern accent perpetuates throughout the whole film... no stumbling. His character is one of charisma. Kilmer brings us just that, along with admirable charm and sarcastic wit. His performance in Tombstone is superb. Absolutely.
Sam Elliott as Virgil Earp: the master of western films. His role in Tombstone was, without a doubt, respectable.
Bill Paxton as Morgan Earp: Paxton has the young boyish look about him which fits comfortably with his character's ignorant nievety.
Powers Boothe as Curly Bill Brocious: Yes. I can clearly distinguish Boothe as the enemy.
Michael Biehn as Johnny Ringo: he did a helluva job playing the part as intelligent bastard. Quite entertaining.
Dana Delany as Josephine Marcus: I'm not really a fan of Delaney's. However I thought she played the free-spirited actress part rather decently.
Favorite quotes from the movie
This may look like a lengthy list. But what can I say, Tombstone is filled with great lines. My favorites, in no particular order:
1. Doc Holliday: I have not yet begun to defile myself.
2. Doc Holliday: It's true, you are a good woman. Then again, you may be the antichrist.
3. Wyatt Earp: You gonna do somethin'? Or are you just gonna stand there and bleed?
4. Wyatt Earp: I spent my whole life not knowing what I want out of it, just chasing my tail. Now for the first time I know exactly what I want and who... that's the damnable misery of it.
5. Doc Holliday: It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds.
6. Morgan Earp: Look at all the stars. You look up and you think, "God made all this and He remembered to make a little speck like me." It's kind of flattering, really.
7. Doc Holliday: It seems poker's just not your game, Ike. I know: let's have a spelling contest!
8. Johnny Ringo: It's quoted in the bible, Revelations: Behold the pale horse. The man who sat on him was death, and Hell followed with him.
9. Wyatt Earp: You tell him I'm coming! And hell's coming with me!
10. John Ringo: I want your blood. And I want your soul. And I want them both right now!
11. Doc Holliday: [to Johnny Ringo] Why Johnny Ringo, you look like someone just walked over your grave.
12. Doc Holliday: You're a daisy if you do.
13. Doc Holliday: You must be Ringo. [to Big Nose Kate] Look, darlin', it's Johnny Ringo. Deadliest pistolier since Wild Bill, they say. What do you think, darlin', should I hate him?
14. Doc Holliday: I've got two guns. One for each of ya.
15. Wyatt Earp: You die first, get it? Your friends might get me in a rush, but not before I make your head into a canoe, you understand me?
Favorite Scene: There is many of them, but to narrow it down to one... it would be the scene at the end when Doc confronts Ringo. Ringo thinks he is supposed to meet Wyatt for a fight but is surprised (and pretty scared) to see Doc there instead.
