You get what you pay for

Bought to replace a DVD player that would not play certain DVDs. While the price was nice, we got it for $30, it was not worth one cent. Setup was easy, but the custom setup was complicated and difficult to understand. The sound quality was terrible as the words were constantly out of sync with the lips of the people, especially during loud scenes. No matter what way we programmed the inputs and outputs this problem never corrected. At a mere 8 months old it finished playing a rented movie and then the tray would not open. We had to completely disconnect it from our TV and I had to pry it open with two screw drivers to get the DVD out. I tried all the trouble shooting ideas in the manual for both the sound issues and the tray issue and none ever worked. The buttons were not very solid on the unit. They are little slivers of things that are cheaply made. The tray also seemed very flimsy and cheap. The unit had very few options for viewing and sound. There was also no resume play on it. You could not turn off the auto shut off feature and once it had shut down you could not resume from where you left off. Although the manual made it sound as though there was a resume each time you stopped the movie and 20 minutes passed, the unit shut off and you had to use the scene selection to find where you had left off. Total waste of money stay away from this thing.
