Author's Review
Purchased from Amazon. I read reviews before buying. I bought it because it was a good price for the hardware supplied. Screen is large, color is good. Plenty of USB ports. I use this as my home/travel computer and have a desktop at the office. I consider myself a "power user." So I really put this laptop to work. I run Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop on it and MS Office apps. Works great EXCEPT: I would have liked my computer better if it were not filled with all the junky Toshiba programs. It took up about 1/2 of the hard drive space with bloated games, useless apps, and things I really don't need. With 120G hard drive , that doesn't leave a lot of room, believe it or not for your own programs. Also don't bother getting Vista, what a pain, XP pro is much better still. When I had problems the Toshiba tech from India , told me I had to reinstall all their programs so they could help me trouble shoot! On the good side, the hardware is good, it travels well, and connects easily to wireless. The glossy screen isn't the greatest, but it's less of a problem than I thought. It's ok for the price. I wanted a cheapish lap top to replace my home desk top. This fit the bill. There was a rebate on Amazon at the time for $75.00, so the final price was about $625.
