Love my Prius

After my first month of driving I love my new Prius. Best way to describe it is well made, smart, and unique. I am 6' tall and have no problem with seating, however, I would like the seat to have height adjustment. That is the only thing I don't like.

In my opinion the car is a great value for what you pay. I found that dealers will actually deal on them now. Not sure if its the economy or a plentiful supply. It is what it is -- the ultimate econobox so don't think that its fast or really sporty. I got it to drive to work, go to grocery store and other around town drives. For this it is perfect. I did not buy it to make a political statement. Hatchback with front folding rear seats can carry much more than you think. I bought barcelona red, option pkg #2 which has heated side mirrors, cruise control, keyless entry (very cool), and a backup camera (really cool).

Driving this car changes the way I now drive. I am constantly playing a game to squeeze one more MPG (as indicated on the dash display) by not taking off so fast at lights and other little driving habits. One weird thing about this car is that it actually shuts off at stop lights and starts up when you hit the gas pedal just like a golf cart. Also, if you search the web you will see many sites dedicated to prius lovers as well as groups that meet.

So far I have been getting about 45 mpg on the highway and high 30's in town. I think that will get better as the weather warms up (I live in Connecticut) because I have been warming up in the driveway and that is killing my mileage. Plenty of acceleration and nice on the highway. Do not buy this car if you have a teenager that sneaks out a night because this car is so quiet and stealthy.

I have owned this car for one month and have about 500 miles on it. I will follow up in a year with another review. Overall a really great car - highly recommended.
