We just bought the Toyota Sienna Limited Front Wheel drive model. We have put on 4000 miles in about three months. This is the best mini van out there. Some of the features that sold me are just too good to be true.
I ended up getting the High Intensity Discharge headlamps with Dynamic Laser cruise control, it was a package. The HID headlights are very very bright, and they are controllable to move up or down. This really helps in the fog, and on wide open roads during the night. The Laser cruise is amazing, If you are not aware, as i was not, this is a laser under the front grill that detects distance/speed of the car in front of you. So if traveling 70 and a car pulls in front of you going 60.....the car will brake. Once the car moves out of your lane, you will accelerate back to 70. If a car pulls in front of you going faster, it will not slow you down. And you can set your laser setting to keep a space cushion of 1-3 cars lengths. This is my favorite feature.
Other features I like are the power folding, and unfolding rear seats...very easy to use, and you don't have to cramp up in the rear cargo area to do it. I also really like the power side windows that go into the door, this was hard to find on other models..it may be exclusive to the Sienna. The sun shades are very nice for the kids. The power sliding door has a safety feature of retraction if something gets caught.....like an arm or leg. The rear windows vent out with power from the drivers seat.
The rear DVD system is great, you can watch it in the front navigation screen as well....you must apply the parking brake.
The drive is very nice, good feel, and plenty of power for touring. It took awhile to learn how to brake properly, It is much heavier then a car, and takes a bit longer to slow down and stop.
Navigation is poor compared to a store bought unit. I guess the upside is that it can be upgraded with new dvd maps in the future. The voice controlled navigation has been useless....I have spent 8+ hours trying to get it to work in a useful fashion, it did not meet my expectations. Because of this, I would recommend no NAV and get an aftermarket unit.
