20 somethings DO like these cars.
Pros:
reliability, comfort, and good looks. The Camry is the total package.
Cons:
You can't drive more than a mile without seeing another one.
The Bottom Line:
I highly recommend this car. You cannot go wrong by buying a Toyota Camry. It manages to exceed most any expectation you might have for your car.

Author's Review
Toyota Camry's are great cars. You can get the gist of my entire review with that one sentence, or you can read on to find out WHY they're great cars. Everywhere you look, it seems that Camry's are viewed as reliable cars for older people who can't quite afford a Lexus, or people who could care less about their car, they just want point A to point B transportation. As a person in my twenties, and a college student, I find the Camry to be an excellent car for both of these reasons, but also on many other levels, too.
INTERIOR: My 2002 Camry is a pretty basic model, LE 4 cylinder. The cloth seats are very comfortable, and supportive even on long trips. I commute over 100 miles a day to work and school, and in all the time I've owned this car, I've not had any comfort issues. The only possible exception, although minor, is that of roominess. I'm 6'1" and sometimes my legs feel a little cramped. This occurs only on extended road trips, not on a daily basis, so for most people, it will probably be a non-issue. The climate control works beautifully, with many different settings, so it's easy to find a comfortable temperature, no matter how hot (or cold) you like it. Placement on the dash is perfect, as if I'd designed the car myself.
Frequently used controls are within easy reach, and a drawer to the left of the steering wheel holds about $20 in quarters in case I have to pay for parking somewhere.
The audio is pretty good. It's got a CD/cassette player with decent sound, considering it's only 4 speakers. There are 18 presets available, and it's easy to hook up auxiliary components, as well. My wife bought me XM radio for Christmas this year, and hooking it up was a pretty easy job.
The trunk is cavernous, bigger than in an '05 Honda Accord, which this car competes very competitively with. I'm not sure on exact dimensions, but it will easily hold several suitcases and overnight bags, with room to spare. In addition, the trunk hinges don't come down on your stuff when the trunk is fully loaded, thanks to a helpful hinge enclosure.
POWER: On the power spectrum, the Camry is adequate, and not much else. It's 158 HP engine has got power to merge with traffic, power for passing, and traverse steep grades on the highway. That's about the extent, although I suspect it's more than enough for the 400,000 people who buy new camry's every year. I have no complaints. For those that need more power, there is a V6 available with 200 HP in this model year. I've not driven one, but I suspect the difference is not very drastic, given the relatively small difference in HP ratings.
APPEARANCE: While many comment on the Camry's bland styling, I personally like it, most of it anyway. It's understated to be sure, but I think it is a good looking car with nice lines, and the exterior is well designed. Toyota doesn't market the Camry as anything it isn't. It's subtle, under stated look mirrors this. My only issue with the exterior is that of the rear end. I know it's not easy making what is essentially the butt of a car look good, but it's been done. The Camry has tail lights that are about twice the size they should be, and they look rather silly. A mild updating for the 2005 model year changed the look a little bit, but they're still too big.
RELIABILITY:
The car is four years old now, and has over 70,000 miles. Total amount spent on repairs: $0 The car is still as squeak and rattle free as when brand new. Required maintenance, and a set of tires is all I've done to the car.
I know the majority of people take their car to have the oil changed, but if you're one of the small number of people who like to change their own oil, like myself, I can say that you may never find a car as easy to do this service on as the Camry. Filter and drain plug are both within 6 inches of each other. Oil changes take me about 15 minutes total, and I usually end up with just a couple of drops of oil on me.
Overall Overall, it's a great car, one that I would highly recommend, and will probably purchase another one when the time comes for me to be in the new car market again. I like the looks of the new 2007 Camry, but my '02 hasn't faltered, and I intend to keep it until it doesn't make financial sense to keep it anymore
