Great SUV
Date of Review: Aug 24, 2008
The Bottom Line: If you have the cash, yes buy buy buy. It's a trouble free vehicle, with a great resale value ( I'll never sell mine)
A superior vehicle. I love it! It's comfortable, peppy(V6) and is reasonable on gas. Leather interior and a fully adjustable drivers seat. Dual control for temperature, so the passenger and the driver adjusts to their comfort level. Drives more like a car than a truck. Handles very well.
I love the grown up version of the baby RAV. It's bigger and roomier than previous years. A 3rd row seating is available, I opted out of this one for extra storage. We have the DVD player installed, which has kept our kids happily entertained (some people do get car sick though)... If your kids (back seat passengers) are prone to motion sickness, you don't want the DVD player. The DVD player was expensive, but does include 2 wireless headsets (a problem if there are 3 people in the back) However, you can tune into the radio for audio (sorry front passengers don't get to see what's going on). I would have preferred the viewing screen to be an inch or two bigger.
In the back seat, A center "arm rest" folds down to give the kids a sense of their own space(cup holders too).. Fold the arm rest up and 3 people fit comfortably in the back seat. The rear seats are also on sliders. The rear seats also tilt.
At the rear of the SUV there are convenient "pull handles" so you don't have to go to the side of the vehicle to fold the back seats down. To put them in the upright position you need to do this at the side of the vehicle. The seats are a little on the heavy side for returning to an upright position.
The back door is a pain.... I would rather have the lift or a split. The door opens to the side and needs plenty of room, to open it.
We had all the options and then some. Step bars, body molding, wheel flares, spoilers, mags, upgraded radio. I thought the car looked kind of plain without the added trim. We don't live near a dealership, so warranty stuff is a pain (there really hasn't been any problems with the car) just a minor cosmetic button for the DVD player. We did have the radio replaced.. This particular radio has a problem with the digital display.
