Hollywood dish at US

Not quite the same as when it was a monthly, US Weekly strives for the same objectives in its new weekly layout--dishing out the Hollywood scoop, with style and flair. Whether you want to see the color photos of the stars steppin' out in style, or read about what's currently hot in LA-LA land in the way of film, music and books, just pick up and flip through a copy of US.

A recent issue I received in my mailbox included an expose on a recent Hugh Hefner (of Playboy famedom) bash, along with pix, and another featured an in-depth analysis of the Survivor cast (something I couldn't really care much less about, though it whetted my curiosity to watch the finale episode). Also, the latest dish on breaking stories, such as the Heche-DeGeneres split, or Woody Allen and Soon-Yi's recently adopting a new daughter, is fuel for the famished.

The smaller tidbits, such as sidebars on what the stars like to read and listen to, are must-reads for trend-hounds such as myself. The celebrity interviews, on a good week, are depthful and informative. Singer Melissa Etheridge was recently featured in an interview. While a recent fashion designer spread depicted some models wearing furs, I was much informed to read in a previous issue about how python shoes were obtained in African countries where the snake would be beaten to death for its beautiful skin (and how some celebs were purchasing this python 'fashion' with a passion).

I once read somewhere, possibly in the magazine itself, that its title alone signifies something: "Us". Meaning you and me, US almost attempts to bring the celestial personas to an earthlier level, showing how famous stars are essentially are akin to being the 'plebians' that we are. That said, whether you're looking for the latest dish on Hollywood or just want a fun and hip mag to read around the house, US Weekly is quite a handful. See for yourself!
