Pros: Everything about this new detector
Cons: Maybe the price, but you get what you pay for.
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this detector to any one who can afford it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: This is a grate detector, or at least the new one with the 1.8 version software upgrade is. I have owned a Passport 8500 for about a year now and it is a good detector. But the new V-1 beats it in a big way. This new V-1 picks up K, KA, X, Laser,...

Pros: The arrow light show when it works!
Cons: BAD warranty, No self check, 2 expensive, bulky old look, too many false alarms!
The Bottom Line: Technology has come a long way, and other detectors are just as good for lot less money. Next time i'll buy a cheaper one!

Review: I bought my V1 2 yrs ago after lots of research and the final belief that it was the best on the market. However, that all changed this morning. As I was traveling down the road, I noticed a motorcycle cop aiming his handheld radar gun right at me...

Review: Over the past ten years, I have owned several different radar detectors.
Started with an Escort in my 1989 Taurus SHO, moved up to a Passport, and graduated to my first Valentine 1 in 1993. It was an original with just front and rear... |

Pros: Arrows, range, auto dimming and loudness
Cons: Suction cups. Need tech support to shut-off X Band. Cost.
The Bottom Line: $399 might just save you a fortune!

Review: I have owned an Escort 8500 for 2 years now. I just recently purchased a Valentine One (the arrows intrigued me!) I have had very good results with my Escort. After reading review after review on both, I finally tested them out side by side tonight...

Pros: Great range, programmable features (if you can find them)
Cons: Customer service, customer service, customer service!
This reviewer does not recommend this product.
Review: The detector is great, but the service is horrible. If your detector ever needs repair, you will pay out the rear-end for it. I simply needed the plastic pieces replaced (front lens, rear lens, and the display), and they bilked me out of $91.

Pros: Many features, Ku Band, incredible Ka responsiveness
Cons: Big price tag, Poor 'Instant on' and Laser detection, arrow displays are inconsistent.
The Bottom Line: The Valentine One is most impressive. It offers no-nonsense information, high quality, and military style logistics. Although, If you're looking for a 'miracle' radar detector, there isn't one.

Pros: TOP PROTECTION, BOGEY COUNTER, CONCEALED DISPLAY OPTION, ARROW LOCATOR SYSTEM, UPGRADEABLE, K POP DETECTION
Cons: Small Radar band LED display. No included carrying case.
The Bottom Line: You can't go wrong buying a Valentine 1 Radar Detector. I highly recommend the concealed display.

Review: I am so glad I discovered the Valentine 1 (V1) on Epinions, when searching for radar detector reviews. I've used detectors going back to 1980. My first high end detector was the Cobra Trapshooter II then I began using Bel products in the 1980 s,...

Pros: Directional arrows, counter, currently the most sensitive detector on the market, tough casing
Cons: Lots of false positives due to sensitive detection
The Bottom Line: Save up for the V1 and avoid the urge to pick up the cheaper competition. The V1 beats them hands-down in features that matter, sensitivity, and build quality.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: After my last (out of three) Escort X50 detector went haywire, I finally bit the bullet to see if paying a premium for a V1 would get me a better detector. Well, I must thank Escort for helping me open my eyes to what I've been missing all this...

Pros: Great sensitivity, can track multiple radars.
Cons: Need to place unit in a good spot on the windshield for best performance.
The Bottom Line: Save up the money and buy it. You will wonder how you survived without it.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: People can complain about the high price of this unit, and to shell out over $400 is a lot. But my V1 has paid for itself numerous times already. It is not fancy, doesn't give you many options, but then again, it doesn't need to. The Valentine One...

Pros: Sensitivity of all bands is top notch. Directional arrows are a must have.
Cons: Slightly expensive, could be sleeker.
The Bottom Line: All around, this detector delivers more value than any other.

Review: As you may have read over in the Passport 8500 section, I've owned two V1's previously and now, after selling my 8500, I'm on my third V1.
