Fantastic colour rendition and contrast

I bought this monitor to replace my aging 17" CRT for school and graphics work, and I am very satisfied. Please note that I do not have a hardware colour calibrator, so when I say "excellent colours" this is purely subjective.

I calibrated the old CRT with the Adobe Gamma utility, and when I compared the two monitors the Viewsonic was nearly identical right out of the box. As it is difficult/impossible to use a software calibration utility on an LCD, I was pleased to see this result. The colours and contrast of the monitor are excellent, and there are no noticeable "hot patches" or any other phenomenon common to inexpensive LCD's.

I do not play any games, so I cannot comment on the refresh rate, but for my applications (casual graphics and office work) this monitor is perfect.
