Eye popping monitor, bright, fast lcd.
Pros:
Great colors, 1080p looks great, native hdmi & PC hookups, no ghosting, large
Cons:
Uneven backlighting with a 6 inch strand across the lower 2/3 section.
The Bottom Line:
Love the display, hate the fact that the design is still mired in the PC world, with no thought towards cross device functionality.

Author's Review
In lieu of buying a bedroom TV, I bought this monitor instead, and plugged a DVR, 1080p DVD player, PC, and an old stereo together to complete the setup.
Certainly, it all works, but getting to the working point was a bit of a pain. But, even with all the gripes I have, I really do enjoy the image.
The initial setup required tweeking for each device to get the image just right. The biggest problem was with the PC, where the default timing signal from the NVidia card was not recognized by the monitor, and so the monitor would 'auto-adjust' incorrectly moving the full resolution image a few inches off.
My other gripe is that this monitor is really geared for PC use, and not the cross function display I've wired up.
There is no remote control, so you have to manually use the buttons to switch between devices. It would be great if this monitor simply hunted for and locked on to a signal.
Energy star *only* works with the PC input. This is really quite pathetic, and I am disapointed by the ruse.
The back lighting has an uneven 6" band across the lower 2/3rds of the screen. This is only obvious against black. I dialed down the contrast/brightness and the band is still obvious. To the untrained eye, however, it may not be that big of a deal.
All in all, I would do it again. Though, I hope that others will be warned about what they are getting in to when they take the approach I did.
Finally, the speakers are only good from about 2 feet away. Don't expect a TV style output to fill your room with sound.
