Author's Review
I am so disappointed in this waffler. I got it as a gift, because I had put it on my want list. I chose this waffle maker because I was impressed with its expensive look and the size of the waffles it could bake.
This waffler NEVER turned out good waffles. The top element simply would not brown a waffle. I got brown-on-the-bottom and white-on-the-top waffles. The waffles were thin and heavy. They tasted like cardboard, even though the batter is the one I've used successfully for years. I had to flip each waffle over in order to get the top browned. Turning up the browning control did not do the trick...it just produced even drier, browner-on-the-bottom waffles. In fact, no matter where the browning control was set, the waffles were thin and dry.
I contacted the manufacturer, to no avail. They suggested a list of things to do, which I had done, but no success. In short, the top element is inadequate. So, I'm stuck with a $100 waffler that doesn't hold a candle to my old $15 waffler! Goodwill will be getting this lemon as soon as I purchase a another waffler.
