Author's Review
Introduction: World of Warcraft is an amazing, must own game. Caution! People should only play it if they have a lot of free time. Instantly almost any player will become addicted to this massively multiplayer online rpg. When addicted you will put work, chores, and even sleep off just to play the game. However, for summers or AFTER work is completed, this game is the definition of a masterpiece. Based on the Warcraft series, this game lets you decide what you would do if you were in one of those games. It is fun when you hear a bot (a character controlled by the game) say the same things as they do in that series.
The different Races: Created by Blizzard, World of Warcraft puts you in the role of either an Ork, Undead, Tauren, Troll, Human, Night Elf, Dwarf, or a Gnome. The Trolls, Orks, Undead, and Tauren are all part of the Horde. The Gnomes, Dwarves, Night Elves, and Humans are part of the Alliance. These two groups are enemies. You have a choice to either join a server where you are (1)allowed to fight people in your opposite group, (2) not allowed to, or (3)able to decide this while you play by switching pvp (player vs. player) on or off.
Classes and Professions: After you choose your race you also have to choose a class. There are rogues, warriors, druids, mages, priests, paladins, shamons, warlocks, and hunters. Each one is unique in there own way and serves their own purpose in the game. You even can have up to two main professions, as well as unlimited secondary professions. These jobs can get you money if you sell them to the bots (characters controlled by the game) or other players in the game.
Graphics and unique features: World of Warcraft has outstanding graphics and lets you actually feel like youre in a whole new world. In other words for fifteen dollars a month you get another life, or multiple lives depending on how many characters you make. However besides the graphics what really makes this game special is how much extra stuff Blizzard put into it. For instance, in most online Role Playing Games in cities and towns there will only be the things necessary, like a place to buy weapons and armor, and stores to buy things to heal with. In this game there are fruit vendors that walk the streets, bakeries, meat sellers, trainers to let you learn skills and talents, banks, you can send people mail at mail boxes, trains, and even auction houses. Similar to Ebay at an action house you can have an auction for anything you find in the game. The environment is also amazing. There are deserts, oceans, lakes, tropical islands, rivers, grasslands, and forests. The cities are gigantic. They are so big that you will often have to ask a bot for directions. Then there is the wildlife in the game. Animals will often travel in packs. If you look closely you may even come across an animal hunting a critter. In the massive environments herbs actually grow which you can collect, if you chose herbalism as one of your two professions. With multiple continents, islands, and mountains, getting around from place to place can take awhile. So there are ships, trains, and even places where you can pay to have a griffen or other large flying beasts to take you to an area. When flying on one of these beasts you get an amazing view. Sometimes you can even see other players on the ground fighting. However I have to admit I was a little disappointed that they didnt fly too far off the ground. I was hoping that they could go high enough to be able to reach the clouds. That would give the player riding one an even more amazing view.
People on World of Warcraft: When you play this game you can easily make friends which you can put on your friends list. Most of the people on World of Warcraft are nice. For example people will often give you spells to give you more strength or heal you if youre in trouble. When playing an online game you can sometimes feel rushed if youre trying to keep up with the people you know by being the same level. Yet in this game its different. With so many people playing you are bound to find someone else close to your level. As a matter of fact, once when I was confused with a quest, I found somebody who was my same race, class, level, and who was confused with the same part of the same quest I was on. We agreed to work together, and we both completed the quest.
Quests and dungeons: In this game you are given a certain level. The higher the level the stronger you will be. The main way to go up a level is by doing quests given by the bots. They can be as simple as hunting animals, or as complicated as delivering some supplies to someone in a city on another continent. There are also huge dungeons and caves which are fun to go into with a group of friends.
My overall reaction: This game is beyond any World in this universe. I also like how Blizzard will often add new dungeons to the game or fix errors in it. However I hate it when I try to log in and I get a pop-up saying that I cant play until Blizzard is done loading everything theyre adding, or done checking for errors. But as I have also said this isnt a game you should play if you dont have tons of free time, because I believe you dont want to get embarrassed when your boss finds out you play World of Warcraft in your office when ever hes not looking. Or have him find out when ever he gives you a long boring assignment you make a character with his name and have him jump off the highest mountain you can find. Thus in conclusion I give this game a 5 star rating. However this game probably deserves even higher.
