1:4 ratio. 1 hour working for every 4 hours getting it to work

baught it to replace an old laptop that was slowly dying to run a new HP LaserJet 1018. Initially it would NOT work. after 2 hours on the phone with some outsourced lady it STILL wouldn't print. eventually got it to work by randomly fiddling with settings but after an hour it choked up. the unit just would NOT respond to print requests or even pings... until you unplug the USB cable. then it responds fine. after mush faffing around it turns out you need to connect the printer to a computer and print somthing then reconnect it to the print server and it works great... for an hour.
