Blends nicely, but it drips

I use this blender 2-3x per week for smoothies. I'm satisfied with its ability to quickly turn frozen fruit and yogurt into creamy concoctions. I don't know the purpose for 2 speeds. They both blend equally well, one is just a bit faster. What I don't like is the pour spout. It's horrible. There is absolutely no way to avoid dripping onto the counters and onto the blender. I am surprised that this spout design passed testing.

The black electrical cord is heavy-duty and quite long for a kitchen appliance.
