My Book Good WD/Memeo Autobackup HORRIBLE

I purchased the 500GB MyBook primarily for storage of restored photos and the WD autobackup software. It immediately forced me to update my system so that the WD Backup software (Memeo Autobackup) would be protected and I would be unable to use it to back-up to anything besides the My Book. It disabled my CD/DVD RW Rom drives and I had to find a registry fix for that. It changed my ASPI drivers and I had to find a fix for that. It refused to backup unless I went through a whole routine of Shut Down, Backup, Pending, Shut Down, Reboot, etc. I wrote and called India for help since it wouldn't automatically backup anything, I was having to do it. They had no clue. Really bad software by Memeo. It is like loading a really bad virus to your computer. It has disabled my Folder Options in Control Panel twice and believe me, you do not want to have to try to figure out how to get them back. Shoot yourself before you buy this drive for the software and pay extra for it because the backup software is invasive and doesn't work. Think of it as Malware. Get a 1 Terabyte drive with no builtin backup software. Do a search on Memo Backup if you want to double-check what I am saying. Bad, bad, bad.
