Refurbised - Be aware if needing warranty repair

I bought this unit refurbished at Buy.com. It failed after 1 week. The screen became garbled when I was setting up the channels, and it stopped responding to the buttons on the remote and on the set itself. I had to unplug it. When I tried to power it on again, the power light came on but no picture was displayed. I called Westinghouse for support, and was told that I needed to return the unit at my own expense! I e-mailed Buy.com to see if I could at lease get reimbursed for the shipping charges, but they always quoted there return policy on the TV, no matter what I said in the e-mail. It's almost as if it was a "canned" response and they never read my e-mail. When I bought a home theater system from Amazon.com and it was defective, they paid for the return shipping charges.
