Author's Review
I have always loved the show Wheel OF Fortune and very much looked forward to playing the game at home. I assure you... you will NOT be disappointed! This game runs well on a fairly up to date PC, and has wonderful graphics, sound, and lots of fun. Hosted by Vanna White, wearing the same dress every game... LOL... it is very realistic, including the sound of the wheel clicks when you spin it.
You have a lot of options with this game, including where to play, like when they have those specialty weeks with themes and different locations. You can choose everything from The Great Outdoors, to Vegas (my personal favorite). You also have the option of a multi-player game with real or computer players (which can be avoided by adding a "fake player"... we use our cat's name, and solving for them each time it is their turn by hitting enter).... or you can even play a solo game, which is a very likable feature. In the solo game you play a series of rounds where you can get to the bonus round by not running out of your "free spins".
You also have the choice of how long you want to play, a three round, four, or five round game. Or a timed game, for ten, fifteen minutes, etc. (where the realistic part comes in again, and you may experience one of those quick rounds where they spin for you and you have a few seconds to guess a letter and then it goes to the next player...you get the point). The wheel is very much the same as well, with various prizes, dollar amounts and the Jackpot Round. The puzzles are also the same types of categories as there are on the real show.
The prizes are quite humorous sometimes, like a lightweight plane, or something strange you would never want, even as a prize...but that keeps it interesting. The bonus round puzzles I find, are a little easier than the actual show, but all the rest are equally as challenging, if not more, than the show itself. There are also extras on the game like a contestant test, where you have to fill in puzzles in a certain amount of time, and backstage footage of actual members of the crew and cast... but in all this wonderful realistic fun... where IS Pat Sajack??
