Easy to Read and Enjoy -- Woman's World Magazine

Date of Review: Sep 24, 2009

The Bottom Line:  Woman's World is written for and speaks to women on a variety of topics. It's a winner.
At first glance, Woman's World Magazine looks like a tabloid. However, open the pages to discover a wealth of information. This magazine offers variety in an easy-to-read format.

Description

This is a slightly oversized publication that runs about 56 pages. At the front is a Table of Contents that is written in bold type with colorful headings. Scattered throughout the magazine is a variety of informational tidbits, recipes, craft and garden/plant ideas, diet and health advice, fashion, personal stories, and even a crossword puzzle and horoscope. There are also humorous bits and cartoons sprinkled among the pages to bring smiles.

There are ads in this publication, but they are not "in your face". I find that the pages are so busy with information, that the ads are not intrusive. The advertisements focus on food, diet and nutrition.

My Experiences

Woman's World magazine is an undemanding read, which is one reason I enjoy it so much. I can pick this publication up at lunch, open the magazine to any of its pages, and find something of interest. This is a magazine that also appears regularly at my hair dresser's and dentist's offices. And I can see why it's popular. When you don't have a lot of time, Woman's World is accessible and easy to read.

I also enjoy the variety of topics this magazine covers. It doesn't go into depth on anything. This is definitely a magazine for light reading. Pages are arranged so that a lot of small tidbits of information are presented in nugget format (bits of info sprinkled all over the page ... easy to read). These informational tidbits cover a range of topics, too: saving money, exercise, safety, fashion trends.

The magazine also includes a lot of color photography. Everything from photos of fashion items, food, health/exercise, crafts, home-related projects, to general photos and graphics that give pieces a flash of color and interest. There are also photographs of people, but as a rule, Woman's World is not a magazine that focuses on media stars and personalities.

One of its endearing qualities is that the publication features short pieces about everyday life and experiences. It is every-day women speaking to their peers.

I enjoy browsing through the recipes, too. The color photography does a good job of making me want to sample the eats! Each issue covers a few simple how-to projects. I also like the simple exercises (with photos). And one of my favorite pieces is the crossword puzzle.

Purchasing

Each issue sells for $1.79. A subscription for 20 issues goes for $24.98, and 50 issues for $59.60 (within the USA). Higher rates apply to Canadian and foreign orders.

Summary

I enjoy reading Woman's World Magazine. The way this publication is presented makes for quick and easy reading. I can pick this magazine up any time and enjoy its varied content. If you enjoy light and entertaining reading, then try this magazine.

I hope you found this review useful.

Enjoy the day,
Dawn
