Product Review

Three in three months

by   phdcomp ,   Nov 23, 2005

Pros:  Great sound quality.

Cons:  Will not play MP3 disks consistently.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Author's Review

I purchased this player as an audiophile quality audio CD player as well as its ability to play MP3 disks. It sounds great but does a poor job when it comes to playing MP3 disks. The problem is that the player stops at the end of certain tracks on the MP3 disk. When this happens the player does not indicate an error but sits there with the display indicating the folder and track number. When I press next or previous one or more times it resumes playback of the CD. The player exhibits this problem on different tracks of a CD at different times. The problem is not with the CD because the same CD that this player has troubles with plays flawlessly on a $60 portable CD player, another (name brand) multiple format DVD player, in my car, and also on my computer. The player does not have any problems playing CD-R audio disks.

I am on my third unit in three months and each one has exhibited the exact same symptoms.
