What the title says...Yamaha sounds great.
I have a set of Klipsch home theater speaker with a RW-10 sub(550watts).
This receiver sounds great with music or movies.
For the mid range home theater enthusiast the receiver is Plenty enough.
I have about 12 grand into my home theater and this receiver fits in perfectly
I suggest a Toshiba HD DVD player with direct bitstream audio for superb separation.(sorry Sony HD DVDs but you suck, I know I went threw 3 different models trying to get good separation)Toshiba HD DVD player far surpasses anything the mid range brands can put out.
I moved from Onkyo to Yamaha, I bought this Yamaha because I was on a tight budget and thought it would get me by for a few months. It's been 9 months and have no reason to upgrade.it's fantastic for the price.
