When I'm Grieving - I Turn To These Inspirational Songs For Help

Anyone who really knows me realizes by now that I am grieving the death of my best friend, Allen, who I loved very much. The death of anyone close to you has a very profound impact upon you that I really doesn’t go away even though through time you may learn to deal with it better.

However, in my case, I suffer a double “whammy” so to speak, because less than three years ago, I also lost the love of my life, Robert, through a long ordeal with cancer.

So, I’m in a lot of emotional pain because of this dual loss of love in my life and am trying to find answers and comfort through varied means. Naturally, I am seeking God through this because I know He is the great comforter, but in addition to that I’m also seeking solace through the use of music to help me get through the pain.

And although I am hurting, there is solace through my listening of a CD that Robert found comforting through his ordeal with cancer – LeAnn Rimes’ You Light Up My Life.

The main reason why I find solace in this CD collection of LeAnn Rimes, is that the selection of songs is a really masterful combination of faith, hope, and unconditional love. These selections include songs that are spiritual in nature singing in reference to belief in God, as well as patriotic songs.

I Believe - Even though I realize that many other performers have stronger and more passionate vocals than LeAnn does, her performance of I Believe gives a innocence to the performance that will give the listener the hope that if someone so young believes in these things happening for the better that perhaps they can too.

Ten Thousand Angels Cried - This is a deeply moving song about the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross and the reaction of the angels of heaven standing by helpless. Even individuals that really do not attend church regularly have found themselves drawn to tears by the lyrics of this song written with passion showing the unconditional love of Jesus and the willingness of the angels to do anything to save him.

Amazing Grace - Again, it is LeAnn’s voice and her youth that give special value to her performance of Amazing Grace on this CD. My boyfriend used to listen to this one song over and over relishing in the comfort of God’s closeness. After listening to this selection myself now after his death, it is a comfort also to me to realize that even though times are rough, God’s grace can take me through it all. While other songs may depend on instrumentation for expression, LeAnn’s accopella performance shines as a beacon with passion through this song.

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow - This song holds a lot of special meaning to me for many reasons. First of all, it’s Leann’s passion that causes me to want to sing along with her affirming the fact that God holds tomorrow in His hands. With so much chaos going on in my life through the past and even now throughout the world, it is comforting to me that God does have control in this world to give us the assurance that no matter what tomorrow brings – He will be there.

How Do I Live - This song really is what drew me to this collection of LeAnn Rimes. The song and its passion for affirming the doubts of living after the loss of a love was something that really affected me greatly. Now after losing really two loves of my life I find myself really wondering how do I live without the love of not only one man who I loved unconditionally – but two men. Somehow though, the song does give me some comfort that at least one other person had this type of situation in their life – because they expressed themselves and their loss in this song.

Background Music and Vocal Elements

Another thing that I enjoy about Leann Rimes – You Light Up My Life is the fact that the instrumentals in the background do not overpower the selections and enhance the overall appeal of the selections. The flair of country guitar within many of the selections appeals to me, but is not overwhelming to the point where it would alienate individuals who are not country music fans.

In addition, the background vocals are also non-intrusive. I believe that the combination of both background singers and the instrumentation of this CD are really one of the reasons why the overall quality of each and every song is literally a masterpiece. Because of this, each and every song is very easy to sing along with. This is very important in my personal opinion because of the fact that if a person can express themselves within an inspirational song of joy or even grief that releases a type of therapy within one’s self to learn to deal with trying situations.

Recommendation

In my personal opinion, there is no question in my mind that LeAnnRimes – You Light Up My Life/Inspirational Songs is a total masterpiece. Of all CDs that I have listened to at this time of grieving in my life, the songs and performance of LeAnn within this collection is the one that I probably have listened to most of all.

However, whether you are grieving or not, I really believe that if you love inspirational songs that you will enjoy LeAnn Rimes – You Light Up My Life/Inspirational Songs. Because of these and numerous other reasons, I highly recommend the purchase of this CD for your musical library.
