I Know the Price is Scary, But It's Worth It

This is, by far, the best rice cooker I have owned. My mother is Korean, so rice has always been a staple in our household. Growing up, she used to use this old beat-up electric rice cooker that she likely brought to the US when she moved here in 1976. Knowing that it worked well enough to meet our needs, I bought my own cheap rice cooker from Wal-mart when I was in college for less than $20. It stunk...the rice always stuck to the bottom and never fully cooked, so it was often crunchy, etc.

While visiting me last year for the birth of our first son, my mom insisted that we buy a new rice cooker. We went to the Korean market in Dallas and this is the one she picked out for me. I was stunned by the nearly $200 price tag, but she insisted that this would be a good one, and it was.

I love cooking in a crock pot and this rice cooker has a timer on it so that it will be ready at whatever time you want it. So, when I get home after a long day, no worries about cooking because it's all ready for you. Plus, it has this great warming feature, that keeps rice warm for a week if you want it (though you need to continue adding water or it will get dry).
