Do not buy this unit

While the performance of the unit was satisfactory, we found that replacement filters required to run the unit properly are not readily available.

This unit is manufactured by a company named Kaz and is sold under the Honeywell name. The unit requires mineral absorption pads to be placed on the heating element to prevent mineral deposits from building up on the element. Because we have hard water, we had to replace these pads each week.

The only place to get these pads, according to the manufacturer, is from Kaz. I have called several times to order replacement pads (because there is no mention of them on their website) and have been told they will be available "next month." I have since seen other reviews where people have complained that the pads are simply not available.

Therefore, Kaz recommends that we use mineral water in the unit (for an additional cost, of course) or to clean the unit EVERY DAY.

The manufacturer either chooses not to support their product or are unable to. As a result, I recommend going with another unit by a different manufacturer that will provide the parts needed to run the until properly.
