It is available in eight models: Work Truck, Base, SLE, and SLT trims in either 2WD or 4WD configurations. GM offers several engine and transmission combinations, including two gasoline V-8 engines and one turbocharged V-8 diesel. Four transmission options are available, including an Allison five-speed automatic transmission and a six-speed manual transmission. Pros: Styling, seat comfort, power, interior features

Cons: highway speed ride quality on large evenly spaced bumps

Powerful, yet smooth

Pros: Smooth ride, handling, power, available options, braking

Cons: Gas mileage (remember it's a truck) few less features than prior years

The Bottom Line: Recommended. Smooth and powerful, yet strong and sturdy make this truck a good tow vehicle or an all-around utility vehicle. The extend cab offers plenty of room.

So far I love this truck! The suspension us tough, but very smooth over the bumps and the 5.3L V8 provides more than enough power for a 1/2; ton pickup. Way to go GM!
