GM offers several engine and transmission combinations, including two gasoline V-8 engines and one turbocharged V-8 diesel. Four transmission options are available, including an Allison five-speed automatic transmission and a six-speed manual transmission. Powerful, yet smooth

Pros: Smooth ride, handling, power, available options, braking

Cons: Gas mileage (remember it's a truck) few less features than prior years

The Bottom Line: Recommended. Smooth and powerful, yet strong and sturdy make this truck a good tow vehicle or an all-around utility vehicle. The extend cab offers plenty of room.
