Cons: expensive filters, heavy water bottle

The Bottom Line: If you're not about to spring for a central humidifier on your HVAC system, a console unit (or two) can help keep you more comfy during heating season.

Little too dry at home? This might help. Essick Air 4D7-800 5.5 gallon humidifier

Pros: Easy to use, variable settings, indicator lights up when it needs to be refilled

Cons: fan can be a little loud at highest settings

Whole house humidifier

Pros: Reasonably quiet. Puts out lot of moisture. Easy to use.

Cons: Requires regular maintenance. Consumable items like wick and bacteria treatment are hard to find locally.

The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone that need an easy solution to humidify the whole house and can put up with the regular required maintenance.
