This report covers half-ton 1500-series Silverados in regular, extended, and Crew Cab models. Extendeds have rear-hinged back doors that don't open independently of the fronts; Crew Cabs have four conventional doors. Both include a 3-person rear bench seat and offer front bucket seats as well as a bench. Regulars and extendeds offer 6.6- and 8.0-ft Fleetside cargo beds or a 6.6-ft Sportside flare-fender box. This 1500 Silverado is a little weak in the payload Department

Pros: Good mileage, reliability, overall low cost of operation.

Cons: Payload rating doesn't match the actual load I've placed on the truck.

The Bottom Line: It's definitely a light duty truck that I've pushed to the limit. I'm having to keep a close eye on the rear suspension. Worth the price I paid.

Pros: Tows large loads well, Comfortable ride

Cons: gas mileage, get a ladder if your under 6'

The Bottom Line: This is a dream work truck. Comfortable and stylish while it's working it's tailpipe off.
